Charles Farquar was a birthright Quaker, the son of Amos and Mary Farquar of Pipe Creek Monthly Meeting in Maryland. He died in 1844. His older sister, Margaret Farquar, married Benjamin Hallowell, and together they opened the Alexandria Boarding School in 1824. From the description of Correspondence, 1829-1842.
